Host Coin of Charles VI (ruled 1380-1422), Vlack 1a Type - 1640 countermark on a Charles VI Blanc dit Guenar, 1st Emission, authorized March 11, 1385, type of Ciani 506, Duplessy 377. The earliest host type listed by Vlack (though at least one earlier has since been located), and rated by him as a full Rarity-8, his highest level of rarity. Host coin is Fine to Very Fine, the countermark bold on the reverse. Steel gray, with some light specks of green. An extremely rare host coin, which had been in circulation for over 250 years by the time it was countermarked – and then circulated even longer afterwards! Seldom offered for sale.
