1779-A (Paris Mint) Isles de France et de Bourbon Three Sols. Vlack Unlisted. Fine or so, the obverse strong for the grade, a few letters weak or missing in the upper right reverse legend, the rest there. Deep golden hue with faint traces of original silvering, the surfaces with a tough of light roughness and the expected marks from circulation. A curious issue for Vlack to not list, the coin is made of billon, and the obverse design is the same at that on the Cayenne 2 Sous issues. While Vlack lists the 1781-dated 3 Sous issues offered in the above two lots, he does not list the 3 Sols issue here. A similar piece dated 1780 is also known, and in 1781 the denomination was changed from Sols to Sous. These should have been included in the Vlack text given their tie to the Cayenne issues, especially since he did list the 1781 3 Sous coinage!
