2000 Commemorative Coin and Banknote Set for Greeting New Century. Commemorative Coin: Face value 10 Yuan. Composition two-coloured copper and alloy. Diameter 25.5 mm. The main design on the face is the rolling wheel of history and the backing consists of the rocket and modern high-rise. On the top of inner margin runs "The People's Republic of China" and below is "Year 2000". The main design on the tail is the pattern symbolizing the Year 2000 made up of the Earth, coloured ribbon and human eyes with the ground of the shining sun. On the top of inner margin is "Greeting the New Century" and the below is "10 Yuan". Commemorative Banknote: The par value is 100 Yuan. The main colour is golden yellow. It is 165 mm long and 80 mm wide with plastic substrate as printing base. The main design on the face of is ROARING DRAGON, the third dragon from the left of the Nine Dragon Screen in Beihai Park, Beijing. The pattern on the plastic transparent coat is the picture of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest of the Temple of Heaven, Beijing. The holographic image is the read lantern with Chinese characters presenting the millennium. The main design on the tail is the Chia Centenary Alter and the baking is the pattern of Flying Apsaras as in the frescoes of the Dunhuang Caves.
