F.J. TOBIN. / ENGRAVER. / B.(ridge) WATER. / N S counterpunched on obv. of Prince Edward Island cent, 1871, Br 915 (Brunk T-329).

Frank J. Tobin of Pictou, Nova Scotia was a jeweler, watchmaker, engraver, musician and artist. He was born in Bridgewater, N.S. in 1864. He arrived in Pictou in 1892 and opened his shop in partnership with J. Ashton. He was a member of the ten-piece Pictou Orchestra and played many different instruments including the harp. He was also an amateur painter. He died in 1959 at the age of 94.
