McLachlan-136, Breton-177. Struck by Savage & Lyman, Jewellers, of Montreal in relatively large quantities. However, survivors prove more difficult to locate today, particularly in nice condition. Examples exist in bronze, white metal, and silver.
This is a lot of two medals in white metal. Both measure 43.5mm with plain edges. 1.) 22.9g. Unholed. Brilliant with high-contrast surfaces. Just a couple of small marks in the field. 2.) 22.5g. Holed with suspender at 12 o’clock. Nearly as attractive, though not quite as contrasted and with a few more marks.
From the Michael Joffre Collection of Canadian Historical Medals.
