50 shares, Blue, 1914 British revenue stamp allegorical figure. AU-UNC, crisp paper, very attractive. Facsimile signature of Sir Henry M. Pellatt, a major Toronto based financier. Sir H.M. Pellatt *1859-1939, was a major financier who was heavily involved in streetcars, utilities, mining, banking and real estate. He is best known as the builder of Toronto's famous Casa Loma, a massive 64,000+ square foot castle with 98 rooms that took 300 workers 3 years to complete. Property seized for non-payment of property taxes in 1924, became a museum. Very litte is known about this realty company, but it is safe to say that this company did not fare very well in the post WW1 recession. Very attractive and a nice piece of financial history.
