CH NF-2, Br 956, Ler 318, EXTREMELY RARE, appears to have been buried at some point in Prince Edward Island where it was located. This specimen was sold in 2002 by Jeffrey Hoare Auctions as lot 660. There are in all likelihood under 8 specimens in existence with 2 in the Bank of Canada National Currency Collection. The last specimen sold in the Stacks-Bowers sale in Chicago in 2013. McAusland ran a store in St. John's and his premises were destroyed by the great fire in 1846. A useful census was published in the Hoare catalogue of September, 2004 as follows, "Previous appearances include the sale of the Murdock Collection in 1903, a Lyman Low sale in 1904, the auctions of the W.W.C. Wilson collection in 1925, 1926 and 1927, the sale of the Wickham collection in 1947, the sale of the Howard Gibbs Collection in 1952 and the Jeffrey Hoare sales in 2002 and 2004. This specimen is rather difficult to grade as it has some traces of verdigris, is porous weighing 2.1 gms. It is brass and 19.3 mm in diameter. Ex:Warren Baker, Richard Cooper. Seldom offered and worthy of a substantial bid.
