Gold in original embossed green Spink & Son case. 58mm, 22k, 132.9g, 3.91 oz AGW. Design by P. Vincze. Medal commemorating the bicentenary of the capture of Quebec in 1759. Obverse: Busts of Generals Montcalm (three-quarters right) and Wolfe (left); with a scene of the landing below. Inscription: MONTCALM QUEBEC WOLFE (on a ribbon). Obverse legend: SEPTEMBER 1759. Reverse: Three men placing a section of fluted column on a wall, symbolizing the building of the nation by the English, French, and Indians. Reverse Legend: TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO. Inscription: 1759 1959. In reverse exergue: CANADA. A beautifully preserved gold medal with a lovely, modernistic design and pristine surfaces. This piece is a true gem.
