An “RF” countermark (of sorts) on a blank copper planchet, or an extensively worn and smoothed host coin. While the two letters are the same as the countermarks used on the 1767-A Sous, the letters here are in a serrated rectangular border, with dots in the upper and lower part of each. This piece did come from France, so there may be some remote connection, but it was collected as an interesting adjunct piece to the 1767 series, and is offered here as such.
