Betts 430, Br. 38. John Pingo's dies are an elegant homage to the Judea Capta series of ancient Rome. Obv. George II King, Laureated naked head of the King to left in flowing wig; Rev. Canada Subdued. In exergue, MDCCLX / SPAC (Society for Promoting Arts and Commerce). A female figure, weeping, to the right, seated on the ground beside a pine tree; behind on the left is a beaver climbing up a bank. Choice AU/Unc. with impeccable surfaces and very few handling marks provide this medal with spectacular eye appeal. From the Geoffrey Bell Collection.
