Canadian Countermark - TK countermarks: On obv. of Trade & Navigation ½ penny, 1813, Br 965, C. 16 (Brunk K-16); on obv. of Wellington ½ penny, Br 971, part of the “K” only struck up. (M.I. 883, Brunk K-16); on rev. of Wellington ½ penny, Br 971 (Brunk K-16). 3 Pcs.

Various speculations have been made concerning the possible issuer of these marks which I have only seen on early (pre-1840) coppers. My most recent notion is that they may represent small change in a lumber camp, and while not provable it seems to me a more tenable suggestion than those previously discussed.
