$1,000 6% registered bond, 1914 SPECIMEN, Orange with train w/ harvesting machines. This is one of the rarest specimens that we have encountered thus far. This railway needs no introduction to either rail collectors or historians. Time and space do not permit the re-telling of this company's history or achievements. Suffice it to say that since its incorporation in 1881, the company has played an integral role in Canada's economic development and the settling of western Canada. They completed the trans-continental railroad in 1885 and with the strength of their operations they expanded into hotels, express delivery services and ships. Guided by a series of tyrannical presidents, CP continued its growth by expanding even more. It entered into mining, air lines, real estate and oil & gas. By the 1970s this became a bloated conglomerate renamed Canadian Pacific Ltd. Ultimately, CP broke up into 5 separate companies in 2001. Only the rail division survived as an ongoing independent company. Certificates from this company, especially from its early years are incredibly difficult to find and are seldom seen by collectors. The above listed specimens from Canadian Pacific and are even more difficult to find than those in issued condition. Absolutely must haves for any rail collector or historian. Each certificate is definitely worthy of a premium bid.
