One peso specimens that are "decorated" and very unusual. Both pieces have a enclosed band on the reverse. Both are gold colored and the obverses have a decoration mounted on the coin. They were purchased from Al Rosen who ran the Toronto Coin Centre in the 1970's. Evidence tells us they belonged to Frederick Montizambert, one of the founding families of Boucherville, Quebec. He was active in the American Public Health Association serving as President. He also partook in international conferences as a speaker, one being in Mexico in 1893. The peso pieces are from Chile 1867-1891 and Mexico (guanajuato Mint) 1871-1873. A fascinating lot that should be inspected. 2 Pcs.
