Obv. Exhibition Phila /1876/Flying Angel / Moseley & Ricker / Montreal / Collection of Leather Rev. Canadian Crest with Sprig of Maple Leaves and Beaver / P.Tasset, gold, 22 kt., 41 mm., 56.3 g., Leroux 1460, McLaughlin 484. This medal was first offered at the 1876 Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia in gold, silver and bronze by Canadian Commissioners for Canadian competitors only. There were 12 gold issued. Moseley & Ricker operated a tannery in Saint-Henri des Tanneries, a center for leather working located near Montreal on the Lachine Canal.
