CH 230-10-04-12. Very Fine, two hinge marks on back. Manuscript signatures are Wm. Farwell, Jr. and B. Pomroy, and the only example of this variety available to private collectors. Until this note made its appearance, the only known $4 note with manuscript Pomroy signature was a much lower grade example in the Bank of Canada National Currency Collection.

The CPMS Registry records another three 1861 $4 notes in private collections of the variety with engraved Pomroy signature, all of them grading VG or lower and most with significant problems.

This is literally the opportunity of a lifetime to acquire not only by far the finest first issue $4 note, but the finest first issue note of any denomination, of the bank. A stellar note, worthy of a premium bid. S/N: 5001/A.
