60mm. 91.3g. Plain edge. Signed J.S. & M. CO. This medal celebrates the 200th anniversary of the marriage between Claude Mathias Farnsworth-Phaneuf (1690-1773) and Catherine Charpentier (1689-1777) in 1713, patriarch and matriarch of the extensive Phaneuf Family, which includes former NHLer Dion Phaneuf. As the medal states, Claude Mathias Farnsworth was born in Groton, Massachusetts, captured by Abenakis in 1704, brought to Montreal, and baptized in 1706. The surfaces of this minimally marked large bronze medal are deep golden brown with a few small spots of corrosion.
