England, Pontefract Bank, One Guinea Note, 1st Oct. 1806. For Perfect, Seaton & Co., Outing 1723a. VG, with irregular edges as issued. Signed by Robert Seaton. Bankruptcy information dated 1811 stamped on the back. This Yorkshire provincial bank failed in 1810 but survived to merge into Yorkshire District Banking Co. in 1834. Scarce note. - England, Scarbrough Bank, £1 8th Aug. 1821. To Lister, Moorsom & Co., signed Wm. Moorsom, no. 4284. Colourful and ornate back may relate to payment of a 5d tax. This Yorkshire provincial bank failed in 1822. Outing 1895c, Fine and scarce. - Traveller's Cheques, Great Britain and other International. National Provincial Bank £10 1964; Lloyd's Bank Ltd. £50 1977; State Bank of India 100 Rupees 1983, the foregoing all used. Specimen Traveller's Cheques, Bank of India, 250 and 500 Rupees. Cheques: Scotland (7) 1908 - 1979; England (10) 1927 - 1977, all used; four others, possibly Spanish, not used. Also, a British Postal Order for 6s/30p, and a Bank of Australasia wrapper with stamp.
