A unique regimental presented medal of the Halifax Loyal Volunteers of Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. This medal is referred to in the book War Medals and Decorations by D. Hastings Irwin published in London in 1919. James Cartledge is recorded in the Volunteer Lists and Local Militia Lists as a Lieutenant, Halifax Volunteers (Yorkshire, West Riding) from November 1803 and as a Captain in the Halifax Loyal Militia from March 11, 1811.
