38.3mm. 18.8g. Plain edge. Signed P.W. ELLIS & Co. As last, but struck in white metal. The United Empire Loyalists Association of Canada describes Joseph Brant (Thayendangea) as an “outstanding” “Indian adviser and mentor of his people, Indian affairs agent, diplomat to the British and American governments on their behalf, captain in the British Army during the American Revolution War, a biblical and liturgical translator, and builder of Anglican churches.” This attractive, all-brilliant medal has a large as-made die chip in the right obverse field above the left shoulder. A few superficial marks.
From the Michael Joffre Collection of Canadian Historical Medals.
