McLachlan-416, Breton-156. 41mm. 35.3. Plain edge. Signed B. WYON. Design as last, but in silver and extremely rare as such. The only one we have seen or that we are aware of. According to Mr. Joffre, he purchased the medal from a family in Montreal whose ancestor, to the best of his recollection, had served as a principal of the Sunbury Grammar School.
Silver surfaces are toned in shades of blue-green with golden-orange colour within the recesses of the design. Both sides are void of obvious impairments and show only a couple of trivial ticks under magnification. A must-have for collectors of scholastic medals and New Brunswick numismatica.
From the Michael Joffre Collection of Canadian Historical Medals.
