Charlton-EONA-30. 63.4mm. 135.5g. Plain edge. Unsigned (Peter L. Kreider & Co., Philadelphia). According to the Charlton reference, these medals were given out to all commercial exhibitors at the fair. Examples are known with dates engraved in the lower obverse field (see next lot), but this one is undated. It is, however, about 70% to 80% red and deeply prooflike — unimaginable for a 19th century Canadian medal. Although the type is not rare in the absolute sense, this is an important condition rarity and one of the more striking medals this cataloguer has handled as part of this collection or any other. Should command a significant premium over a standard Western Fair Association or other agricultural medal.
