McLachlan-481, Breton-94, Clowery-103. 51.3mm. 72.5g. CHARLES R. DAOUST engraved edge. Signed J.S. & A.B. WYON. As last, but in silver and named. Charles R. Daoust (1865-1924) was a prominent journalist, military correspondent and translator, and the author of Cent-Vingt Jours de Service Actif: Récit Historique Très Complet de la Campagne du 65ème au Nord-Ouest (1886). He studied at Collège Saint-Sulpice, Montreal High School, and McGill University. The surfaces of this silver medal are gorgeously toned in natural golden colour around the rims, which transitions to blue and violet in the fields. Unworn with only a couple of microscopic marks.
