McLachlan-205. 29.7mm. 9.1g. Plain edge. Unsigned (by a Mr. Torcapel). Integrated loop at 12 o’clock. R.W. McLachlan derided the quality of this medal 1886: “Mr. Torcapel, who engraved the dies for this medal, is anything but a first class artist. The dots for foliage remind one of the old Saxon coins, and the dotted capital I's are after the manner of the amateur sign painters occasionally met with among our French Canadian citizens.” The central reverse is engraved JR. DOUVILLE / JIUC [??? - difficult to read]. Battleship-grey with brilliance around the legends.
