Lot of two. 1.) Lr. 1791, McLachlan-197, Charlton-2835 (Variety 1 with I in IN below P in POUR). 41.5mm. 18.2g. Plain edge. Unsigned. Holed at 12 o’clock, as issued. Brilliant uncirculated. 2.) Lr. 1791a, McLachlan-198, Charlton-2835 (Variety 2 with I in IN even with P in POUR). 41.5mm. 18g. Suffers from environmental damage, but much scarcer than Variety 1. McLachlan (1886) writes that these were issued about 1853 by Father Charles Chiniquy.
