McLachlan-130, Betts-419. 44mm. 32.4g. Plain edge. Unsigned. As last, but in silver and thus rare. John Ford only had a single example in this metal, which realized $3,220 USD when it sold in 2006. The John W. Adams Collection example brought $6,325 in 2012. Both were higher-grade than this, but the well-worn surfaces contribute to its appeal, at least as far as this cataloguer is concerned. Possibly carried as a pocket piece at some point, each side features smooth high points with little detail left on the faces of Britannia, Liberty, and Justice. The medal is bright silver and muted from cleaning with scattered marks. Still readily appealing as a challenging historical medal celebrating the British victories during the Seven Years’ War.
