NL-70-10-02. Robert G. Reid rapidly built an outstanding reputation for railway construction, and soon was contracted to take over the floundering railway project for the Government of Newfoundland. All R.G. Reid notes are very rare, there are only 7 $1 notes known to exist and roughly half of all notes to exist are in institutional collections. This is an issued note, signed by one of the Reid's younger sons, who became head of the family firm in 1920. This example is in a pleasant fine condition and would make an excellent addition to any elite scrip collection. S/N: 01418.
