The Cataloguers have taken every reasonable measure to ensure that all the lots are as described by Geoffrey Bell Auctions. Many of the lots are third party graded by PCGS, PMG, ICCS - We feel these are the most recognized grading companies in the industry.
Wood 2. - N.N. 5.19 grams. Re-cut obv. die, as illustrated In Howland Wood's classic monograph. This is the specimen sold in the Bowers and Merena Sale, March, 1987, and, amazingly enough did not sell! It was formerly in both Dr. Courteau's and Prof. Mabbott's collections. It was graded VG in the B & M Sale, but as the dies were so worn it was graded according to its appearance. I have given consideration to the worn dies when upgrading it to at least fine. Ex-Buth Coll.

Note this lot is part of the Richard Cooper Collection.
