A great lot featuring a black and white photo of the Bank of Commerce in Whitehorse, Yukon. It was opened in 1900 and Robert Service was an officer of the bank. It was here he wrote Songs of the Sourdough. Whitehorse was the terminus of the Whitehorse and Yukon Railroad where gold was shipped to awaiting steamers. Also included in this lot is a canvas bag that gold was shipped in. It has several stamps on it including Dawson City, Juneau, Alaska, Vancouver and CPR Toronto demonstrating the voyage of $5000 value of gold. It is a registered bag measuring 11.5 mmx18.5 mmm. A wonderful historical lot.
