1 Share Green 2007. Allegorical figures XF-UNC (lot of 4 certificates). Facsimile signature of Conrad Black. This company's origins date back to 1909 when it was known as Hollinger Gold Mines Ltd. Hollinger became a media holding company controlled by Conrad Black. Its flagship newspapers included the Daily Telegraph in London, The Chicago Sun-Times and the Jerusalem Post. A series of non-compete payments made to Conrad Black and senior members of his executive team prompted allegations of looting of the management and the minority shareholders savaged each other in court and in the press. Conrad Black ended up being found guilty of mail fraud and obstruction of justice. Hollinger ultimately went bankrupt in 2007 amid massive debts and a changing media environment. Interesting scandal and very collectible.
