Clowery-51. 49.0mm. 43.68g. Plain edge. Unsigned. Struck to commemorate the centennial of the first parliament of Upper Canada. This large copper medal features a well-executed portrait of John Graves Simcoe, who served as the first lieutenant-governor of Upper Canada from 1791 to 1796 under Lord Dorchester (Sir Guy Carleton). The surfaces are slightly subdued with some reflectivity in the fields. The edge is rough at 12 o’clock, where a hanger would have been.
