McLachlan-141. 38.2mm. 32.30g. Plain edge. Signed J.S. WYON. The Lower Canada Board of Arts and Manufactures put on an exhibition in 1860 to showcase Canadian industry during the Prince of Wales’ visit. According to McLachlan, 10 examples were struck in gold, 100 in silver, and 250 in copper/bronze for presentation to successful exhibitors. Medium brown surfaces exhibit evidence of handling, but there are no unsightly rim nicks or other abrasions.
