This US Civil War Store card is only one of 10,000 issuers having any connection to Canada. Tunis was in the newspaper distribution business selling Eastern newspaper to the West, and vice versa, by rail. He had depots at Detroit, Michigan, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Clifton, CW. The village of Clifton eventually became Niagara Falls, Ontario. The token is listed under Detroit, MI as 225CF-1a (R6) in US Civil War Store Cards by G. and M. Fuld. Fred Bowman also listed the token under Clifton, ON as 222-A-A. Additional information regarding the issuer may be found in an article in the September 2003 issue of Numismatic Canada. Scarce token. Fine.
